  can & do j.ws receive welfare payments?.

  i would especially appreciate watchtower publications, articles etc if available, no matter how old?.

  I don't have any publications on the matter as I've destroyed all my cult stuff, but having been a jw in a welfare state (Australia) I have a lot of first hand experience with this topic.

  In short, yes, jws can receive benefits. There are many benefits in Australia and jws can receive unemployment if they're truly unemployed (not doing cash-in-hand work on the side), disability, single parent, family, medical and study allowances. I myself have been on unemployment, medical and student while a jw, and it was all fine "theocratically".

  Where it is considered unacceptable is if one pioneers while on unemployment, because technically they should be supporting themselves as the bible says to. Someone on unemployment technically should not have their pioneer application accepted ie they are not supposed to go on the dole to pioneer because it's a bad witness.

  I've had them say to me on fb (haven't run into any at the shops yet thank goodness), "I hope you return to Jehovah." And I tell them, "I never left Jehovah [true, cuz you can't leave someone who doesn't exist], I just left an unloving organization that claims to represent him."

  Df, da or inactive jws who are still believers I tell: I just don't believe it anymore..." And they're cool and move on. It's only the 'spiritual' ones who've been phobia conditioned to believe you're the spawn of Satan.

  Family of 4 in Miami FL Partakes

  kendall lakes congregation (miami fl usa), partook of the emblems.

  he is an elder(40), his wife and their 2 daughters (21 &19), all 4 are also regular pioneers.

  another 6 pioneers in that congregation partook of the emblems..

  I've never seen anyone partake in about 18 memorials I went to up to last year's one, nor heard of anyone in my city doing it. It seems the Americans are getting into it though!! Good on them! This reliu started in America and maybe it will start to end there.

  just to share a little about me:.

  i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .

  makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

  I'm with Cofty and Kate and others. Why fake it? Why be part of an organizational structure that harms people? That is like joining the Gestapo as a closet Jew in my books. Not as bad as that of course, but still hypocritical.

  What is the difference between an active JW and a successful FORMER JW?

  active jw's are pushing the end times boulder up the mountain day after day with an imaginary goal of paradise for their efforts.

  I disagree with point 1. I'm passionate and creative but am NOT an early riser. Never have been and never will be. My best creative hours are between 22:00 and midnight.

  I bet this Andre guy views himself as some sort of celebrity because he was a jw movie star. Jesus would so go all Matthew chapter 23 on him if they ever met!!!

  What a bunch of cheapskates!! They should do like the Mormons and put their website on billboards rather than soil the holiest jw occasion with their info mercial. I know Americans are used to a lot of advertising and that, but wtf would people in Africa and Asia think?

  recently discoverd a poster named processor, loved his tread on the life of jesus.

  anyway the guys posts never seem to make long threads.

  Sex really that bad?

  i was just thinking randomly.

  why/how are sexual desires really that much of a sin??.

  sexual energy is one of the highest forms of energies known, why would god put this strong desire in us only to have us repress it through his"word the bible"??.

  Sex is something that must be enjoyed responsibly because there are dire consequences for being reckless. Some view it as sin yet some treat it as a sport and yet others abuse it like a druggo abuses drugs. It's a powerful urge and not inherently bad. It does need to be controlled though, just as the urge to eat chocolate mudcake every day and wash it down with chardonnay must be controlled or you get fat! Like every good thing, sex has a place and must be respected. Religions regulate it because sex takes energy and emotion away from them. If you're happy and content inside, why would you get excited about mass or a district convention or a tiring trip to mecca?
